What is this, what do I need to feed it, what water flow does it like, and what type of light does it like? It came as part of my TBS package.

Hi,

The animal in question is a sea squirt or tunicate, also known as an ascidiacean. This particular species may be Styela partita.
See this article (http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-03/rs/index.htm) for some information about the group, in general.

Such animals feed upon small particulate material such as phytoplankton, bacterial aggregates or small (very small) clumps of detritus. They eat enough of such things that one must spend some time ensuring that their food is adequate. Generally, they perish from starvation in reef tanks - the water is just too clean for them. So... if you want to keep this guy/gal/creature going (they are hermaphrodites, so pick the appropriate pronoun) you will have to supplement your system with small phytoplankton on a daily basis. They tend to persist better in tanks with deep sand beds, because of the bacterial aggregates produced by such beds.

Good luck with it! :D
