Just thought I'd post this... Well, I picked up a frag of zoos while I was at a LFS almost a week ago (I'm not sure I should name names on the public board). Turns out there was some type of tiny bug (beige at most 1/16th of an inch long) eating away at them! So, luckily one healthy polyp got knocked off of the frag during acclimation and I attached it to a seperate piece of rubble. The frag was placed in the sandbed and no bugs moved to the main rock formation and they were quickly removed by turkey baster and FW dips after being discovered. In the end the lone polyp is the only survivor... Thank goodness because I really love the strong florescent coloration on him. This pic is under actinics, but his irridesence(sp?) is still almost as strong under normal lighting.

He's fully extending and doing well now. Hopefully in a couple months it will return to 'frag' size :D

well, some people have had success increasing growth of softies by dosing phyto into the tank and few have successfully target fed zoos with appropriatly sized food. I'd have to search for some sources though. Its been awhile since i've read about that.

as far as stonies all i've seen to help growth is dosing calcium, lots of flow, lots of light, and perfect water conditions

did u superglue it? i've tried supergluing a couple of loose zoa polyps but they always end up dying...

I did superglue it. I was afraid the base of the polyp might get "suffocated", but it has done nicely. Didn't fully extend for 2-3 days, only opened a little at a time, but now it is doing very well.
