anybody have a yashima goby?

I added one of these to my display tank a month ago. He ate well and seemed fairly bold in quarantine, but I haven't seen him since the first couple days in the main tank.

Do these guys get bolder after a while?

Yes at first they hide for a week or two you never see them. Once mine was established for several months I saw him a bit more.

When given places to hide they will, after 4-5 days they'll explore a bit, after a week or 2 they will pick out a spot and be just fine. Mine is paired with a pistol and they move from spot to spot regularly.

I don't have a shrimp with mine. I wonder if that is a contributing factor.

Have you guys noticed them hunting at night? I hope he is finding enough pods to keep him happy.
