Just wondering what I can keep in a 90 with an octo, I really want a puffer, possibly a porcipine, but my b/f wants an octo. Is it possible to keep them together? What else can be kept with an octo? Thankyou.

Hi Ms. Flasher Wrasse: Just a suggestion...you might get your question answered faster in the cephalopod forum. Good luck!

Virtually anything you keep with an octopus is a potential meal for the octopus. I have kept damsels with a small one, and they were never eaten -- only because he couldn't catch them and I fed him other food. Most of the fish that are not at risk of becoming a meal will turn the tables and use the octopus for a meal. Not sure which way the puffer would go. However, octopi are best kept in a species only tank - 30 gal is big enough for most octopi available. I agree with the b/f in that Octopi are one of the coolest animals one can keep, but do lots of reading before you buy one so you make sure to give them the proper care.
