Just tagging for future reference.

The one on that link looks pretty bullet-proof.

Thanks

I second that Aquatic Systems Design kalk reactor (www.aquaticsystemsdesign.com), he made my sump, my skimmer, my calcium reactor and has supplied me with most of dry goods from him. Great price, AWESOME quality, I love his stuff.

Oh yeah he also made my 24x24x24 60g cube tank.

I also have a recirculating needle wheel protein skimmer made by Scott at Aquatic Systems Design that is just awesome!! Within the next year I will have him make a tank for me also. The cool thing about his kalk reactor is the water intake goes through the stirrer plumbing so all of the water coming into the reactor has to travel through the kalk powder then up through the reaction chamber and out the top. Great design and for $145 dollars an absolute steal!!

What did he say? Not what your looking for or out of your price range? Just out of curiousity...

I am looking for a reactor that will handle 5 plus gallon aday evaporation.plus I am also gone 2 weeks at a time I dont want to have to worry about it running out of powder, and I need it by christmas.

If it helps at all, I evap about 3 GPD and only need to add kalk to the reactor about every 2-3 weeks. I also add 40cc per gallon of white distilled vinegar to my top off water. The reactor that I have is the exact one shown on Scott's web site. HTH

I stopped with that Kalk stuff, and use aragaMILK or PurpleUp, and it is way easier and seems just as effective. JD

Purpleup has way to much Iodine in it for everyday use.

Just an FYI, Anthony Calfo says that Aragamilk is not a very good product. I believe Purpleup is a good product for trying to start coraline algae growth but other than that its use seems limited. JMO
