After reading SeanT's thread, I want to hear about different methods you employ for system redundancy. Often times, there is something that we failed to think about.

Let's here some ideas and methods.

Do you mean incase of equipment failure or power outage?

I have a bulkhead in my sump, should the water level get to high the water will go dwon the drain not on the floor.

Redundent auto topoff switches.

At least 2 circuits and dived things up between them. Also split up the GFCI, so if one thing malfunctions only it is shutoff and not everything else on the power strip.

Get a controller, if the tanks gets too cold at night turn on the lights, if it gets to hot during the day turn them off. If the pH gets to far off turn of the kalk mixer/calcium reactor on/off accordingly.

Battery powered air pumps in the display, so means of heating the display.

Run 2 pumps from sump to tank, on seperate circuits.

A generator that cuts in automatically.

Not redundant but will save my tank from one type of melt down.
