Hello everyone,
I've done some manual searching and did not find my answer, so lets ask :)
How long can you go before changing MH bulbs??
Facts:
I have two 250 watt Double End Metal Halides, one with a 14k Hamilton and one with a 10 XDE. I have had both for about seven months and have run them for ten hours per day (except for the first few weeks during light acclimation). I bought them used and both people said they were pretty new, less then a month or two old. This is on a 90 gallon tank.
So, is it time to replace? How do I know? I don't have a PAR metter and would not really want to pay big bucks for one, unless someone has ideas of where to get a reliable PAR meter for a good price.
BTW, I was going to switch to two 14k Phoenix (I think).
