float switch electrifing sump!!!?

I was checking on my sump this morning and the water shocked me. So I stared unplugging things one at a time to see what the problem was. And it was my ultralife float switch. ***? Anyway I guess the answer is simple buy a new one . But I am still a little shocked.

Float switches are notorious for throwing errant current around in the tank. This is why you always make sure you plug your tank into a GFI.

The tank is plugged into a gfi

do you have a grounding probe?

I added one right after I got shocked. And it made no difference.

i replaced the float switch that came with my ultralife with a water proof one from floatswitches.net.
