Never seen that before. Keep an eye on it and if it doesn't improve soon I'd remove it.

Are the other snails doing fine?

the other snails seem ok. 2 of my Peps have shed the fish seem happy but my levels are up slightly:
PH = 8,0 - 8,2
KH = 8 dkh
Nitrit = 0,05 mg/l
Nitrat = 20 - 50 mg/l
NH3/NH4 = 0,1

water temp 25.1 C

Yeah.. I say watching it.. and maybe taking it out snip at it a few times to make sure it's still alive. Turbo snail can really foul the water when it dies.

When I bought my first 2 turbos one was doing great and the other one did the same thing as yours.It died soon after.I dont know what caused it but it is probly a gonner.You should remove it before it adds any more pollution.

ive taken it out and put it in QT so i think its Toast im more concerned about the levels rising and what to do as if i do a water change to reduce the nitrit/nitrat levels it might cause the NH4 which i think is minimal to toxic NH3

If it's a large turbo and it has died, there will be no need to do a "sniff test"... unless you're a masochist. The second that sucker clears the water, the stench will knock a buzzard off a turd wagon! :eek1: :hmm4:

There is a bright side though, I too, had a large Mexican turbo recently bite the dust... it replaced the bait shrimp I would have normally used to cycle my new 10g. :D

I got home from a 4 day trip to Mexico and discovered one of my turbos dead. Didn't smell at all. Of course, the hermits were working on it when I found it so most of the stinky stuff was probably gone by then. :)
