190g all the way! That sounds soooooo cool. Different too, not your typical fish tank.

I agree, I would go with the 190gal in the middle of a room... When I move I really would like to do this myself...

In-walls serve a nice function, but to me, especially with a large tank, can be very one dimensional. As a hobbyist and a preservationist, a single-sided view takes away from the beauty of a large tank. Often times it's the small, dark, hidden areas in our tanks that have the most life. With a one-sided view, these areas are often hidden.

If you can make it work, which is part of the fun, a four-sided, balanced view is spectacular.

Good luck.

In-wall is a lot easier - equipment wise. If I had a room directly beneath the tank I think a large square tank viewable on all sides would be good. But so much harder to make it look good and with the center overflow I think 48"x48"x30" would be a good size.

Very well put Purple Haze... I agree 110% as when I first started looking into a large setup I was going to go in wall, then desided not to for most of the reasons you have stated above... I figured if I went with a tank against the wall I would have 3 different pictures to look at... So I will have two 48" sides and a 96" once my 600gal is setup very soon :)

I think the 190 would be cool, but a lot more work to make it pleasing then and in wall... IMO. But then again i'm lazy and like my snails to clean the glass instead of me :smokin: now if they'd only keep up

Go the 190 although it would mean more glass cleaning :(

Wow! OVerwelming response for the 190! My only concern is the 4ft length will not look so impressive. You know how impressive long tanks look!

BTW, this will be an upgrade from my standard 125 gallon.

I guess the 4 side viewing will look very impressive though!

Would you go with a center overflow? How would you hide it?

Not that it matters but I think a 4'x3'x2' tank would also be 180 gallons

Island overflow, rock and montiporas and such to hide.

The manufactur actually lists it as 48"x36"x25" 190 gallons.

I was looking though, and 48"x48"x25" is only about $100 more!!!

Miss's Blaze already said okay!!

48"x48"x25... There you go, so that will be your new center room tank ?? About 62 more gals for 100.00 :)

Yes it will be in the middle of my living room, it is 16'x22' and has a vaulted ceiling.
