PM inbox

I understand that we have a max of 150 messages in our inbox. I deleted a ton of them to keep it manageable.

I have 53 in "INBOX" and
32 in "SENT MESSAGES"

Therefore = 85 total messages.
I dont have any other folders created to store PMs

How come on the home page it says I have 141 messages?

(You have 0 unread messages and 141 total messages in all your folders.)

I deleted all my "messages tracked" and deleted some of the "subscribed threads"
but that didnt change the number of messages.
What am I missing? Are there other folders?

Check your default view. It needs to show "from the beginning" to see them all.

Yes, I did that. Those are all the PM's from way back

Those all count toward your total. You DO have 141 messages, I just check the statistics.

Only sent and inbox count. Deleting tracking won't help.

I definitely selected "from beginning" and there doesn't seem to be a link on the bottom for "next page" to show more, older PM's.

The oldest PM from inbox = 6/2/2003
The oldest PM from sent = 6/2/2003

I just cut-n-pasted both in & sent into Excel to count again.
53 + 32 = 85.

You are right, my statistics say 141, but I dont understand the math. Is there another category besides PMs that make up the total messages?

Are there older messages before 6-2-03 that I cant see?
There has to be something that I am overlooking

I just did a query against the database, and you currently have 145 messages. I'm not reading statistics I did a select count(*) .....where userid is you.

I have no interface to go see what you're seeing but that is really how many you have. I can't selectively delete them but I can delete what you have.

Thanks for checking. That's what I figured a query would show since that is the same number that my home page shows.

My guess is that the PM screen wont allow you to display PM's older than June 2003, since that is the oldest PM in both my inbox and sent box. In fact the dates are identical (6-2-03).

There are several others I know that all have the same discrepancy btwn PM's and what's in their inbox; so maybe we've finally figured out the issue.

If possible, please delete any PM's older than May 2003. That will probably (hopefully) clear it up. If you cant do this, I will have to live with it. There are some PM's that I want to keep so I'd prefer not to delete them all.

I removed anything with a date older than 1054500000 (June 1, 2003 1PM)
