Coralline can grow in little to no light. My best purple colors come from a tank that I usually didn't even turn the light on.

Assuming you have some coralline already in the tank, in my tanks the coralline grows really well when calcium is over 400.

Best of luck,

Roy

Coraline needs calcium and magnesium to grow. A 2 part such as b-ionic will help because it adds both.

Btw. once coraline starts growing it can really become a pain when it starts growing on the glass.

Get a ca and alk test first before you buy any ca or alk supplements. If you don't test, don't add. W/o testing, go with just the water changes.

3 keys to guaranteed corraline

1. calcium 400 plus

2. alkalinity 3.5-4 or approx 10dkh

3. low phosphates(( i use phossorb and chaeto)

should get the job done as long as your salt has decent magnesium( i use RC)

Good luck

-corallines produce a high magnesium calcite mineral deposit.
Magnesium is essential to corraline.

-corraline algae contains as much as 7% magnesium by weight
