I can only see this at night... what is this? Should I remove this from my tank?
Thanks!

Looks like an urchin. Does it move around in the tank?

Spiny urchin imo. Eats coraline algae( the purple stuff we like)!

I have an identical urchin in my tank as well, hitchhiked in on the LR. While they do eat coralline, mine hasn't done any serious damage, coralline grows and spreads like crazy in my tank. He usually sits in his hole during the day, and comes out a little at night.

It's a rock boring urchin, Echinometra sp.. It's reef safe and will feed on algae.
