It looks like the big one is, does it behave like one? The small one is hard for me to tell. They could just be baby polyps chipped off a mother. How long have you had them, & what do they behave like in your tank?

How does thefeeding response differ? Are sun corals slower?

its hard telling because small dendros look so similiar to sun polyps.
suns will almost never be out during the day while dendros are out both day and night.

It looks to me like dendro skeleton is more exposed... all the pics I have seen of sun corals seem to have quite an obvious fleshy covering... am I mistaken?

so ... LPS experts is that small frag a dendro frag? the large piece above the small frag looks like dendro to me.

Looks like a dendro to me also. I have the night dwelling suns and the polyp tissue is a bit more fleshy. Regarding the feeding I believe they like the same restaurants.

i've had suns that came out during the day on a regular basis.

anyway... looks like a dendro to me.
