What is this? Possibly waste? Fed it some mysis a while ago. It has not moved all evening. Noticed when I came home around 7:00

Looks like it might be cyano.

Yup, looks like algae. Perhaps this area was bumped/stung ... leaving bare skeleton which at times can act like an algae magnet.

exactly right. Cyanobacteria, probably from tissue perforation by skeleton.

Still there 24 hours later. I noticed it has bubbles in it now. What action (if any) should be taken?

Got it -- Obvious but I was reluctant b/c I did not want to hurt the coral. Its had a rough time recovering from the power outage due to Katrina.

These forums are pretty cool :cool: How else can you learn all this stuff. Thanks for the help and your time.
