Can someone check this out for me

Can someone tell me if this sump will work on a 40gal Reef Tank. What do you think of the design?
I'm going to make it a little bigger so i get a total of about 50 to 70g's total water.

I do not see any reason this sump would not work for your 40 gallon. But, I am not sure what you mean when you state that you are going to make it a little bigger.

That said, I like to have as large a sump as possible. The larger your water volume, the more stable your water will be.

i ment that the that site is only 20g. I'm going to make it about 30 to 40g. which will give me total of 50 to 80g.

A larger tank will work great. It would also allow you to add a refugium in the middle of the sump if you want to.

Sounds good... I would suggest not putting the refugium in the sump because of the amount of water flow you will probably be pumping trough the sump..... Best to have the refugium a sperate 10 gallon tank with a power head in the sump pumping water to the regium and maybe having the regium over flow back into the tank..... if possible... Most people put power heads in the refugium too pumping water back to the main tank...
