Hi guys, I'm wondering what your thoughts might be on using Lithonia Outdoor Floodlights, similar to THIS (http://www.lithonia.com/products/images.asp?Family=TFL&View=a) for lighting a tank.

I can get ahold of 400W MH fixtures for ~$200/each. I've looked for setting up DIY ballasts and pendant fixtures or Retro fixtures and the cost is really not that much savings over fixtures like these.

Is there any reason not to use these for a tank?

Those will work fine. You should be able to beat that price pretty easily though. If you DIY, the ballast should be around 60, and the reflector around 40, which is only $100, you will need a good bulb, but you will need a good bulb with that fixture also.
