Hey guys -- I don't know if anyone else has brought this up, but I have had the same problem now a couple of times. It seems that when I try to link several URLs that wrap the Message text box screen, one of them is absorbed into the second until the last "/url" is hit...

The latest example was my anemone post:

Another good set of articles worth printing out and including are Ron's (and again Ron's name will carry more weight) Without a Backbone articles on anemone biology (http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/aqfm/1997/jul/wb/default.asp) and his article about hints about diets and habits (http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/aqfm/1997/aug/wb/default.asp) of anemones.

Which should read:

Another good set of articles worth printing out and including are Ron's (and again Ron's name will carry more weight) Without a Backbone articles on "url=http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/aqfm/1997/jul/wb/default.asp"anemone biology"/url" and his article about "url=http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/aqfm/1997/aug/wb/default.asp"hints about diets and habits"/url" of anemones.

Any ideas on what has changed that doesn't allow this sort of linking anymore?

Hey Rob,
Your right, for some reason its not picking up both the url's...The only way I got it to show both in test three was to copy and paste the version above:

"url=http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/aqfm/1997/jul/wb/default.asp"anemone biology"/url" and his article about
"url=http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/aqfm/1997/aug/wb/default.asp"hints about diets and habits"/url" of anemones.

Then I replaced the quotation marks with the url brackets and test three worked...

Hey John!....HELP!! :)

Hmm, I actually tried just that several times in the "preview message" screen, and couldn't get it to work, but in test 3 you left the quotations around the "anemone biology" rather than replacing them directly with [] -- maybe that's the trick?

Yep -- sticking " " around stuff seems to fix all the problems...

Not sure what difference that makes, but as soon as I add quotation marks around my linked text, everything seems to be OK -- take them out, and everything screws up again.

Eureka!! Let's hope that is a permanent fix. I posted the question to the developer's support forum, so far no answer back.

Did you guys transfer this forum from UBB? I believe the way ubb did it was without the "'s ... vB dose use the "'s in your url. As stated in the vB Code info page. Dosent look like anything wrong to me, you just need to remember your quotes around the url.

Rob,

The quotes are only required before and after the URL. It is explained here (http://www.reefcentral.com/vbulletin/index.php?action=bbcode).
