Ok well I’ve been saying for awhile that I was going to be posting pics of my setup and I finally have a little time to do it..
I went from a 90g w/40g sump and a separate frag tank to these new system..

My new NANO system consists of a 25-30gallon (acrylic)Clam Tank(based on shape of tank). There are no clams though only SPS in the tank. It is Barebottom with no fish in it. Just a few pieces of LR and a bunch of frags at the moment. For circulation I’m running a 1600gph Tunze and a 1850gph Tunze on a Single Controller. I have two 1 bulkheads with strainers through the back wall with a Reverse Durso drain setup(very silent). Two ¾ loc line returns into the tank split off from the Quietone 4000(1017gph@zero head), the split is going to the other tank. The tank is currently lit by one 250w 14,000 kelvin MH on a EV Tech Electronic Ballast. The second tank that is plumbed into the system is a 20g standard acrylic tru vu with one 1 bulkhead w/strainer for an overflow and a single ¾ return line into the tank from the quietone(turned down fairly low), I have a mj1200 and 2 smaller powerheads in there running on a Wavemaker. The tank has a 1-1.5 Livesand bed, and in this tank I have my 3yr old Mandarin(eats everything I throw at him thank god), my copperband butterfly, and my Fiancee’s Tru Percula(named Nemo by her of course).. I also have various hermits, snails and a serpant starfish in there as well.. As for corals there are only softies and lps in this tank. It’s about 95% Zoanthids, currently it is being lit by my jbj nanocube dx 2x24w pc’s..and dual fans(I will be upgrading to a 96w powerquad PC.)
Now for my sump, I have a standard 40g Tru Vu that I have portioned off, First I have a small chamber that is about 6widex15tall I believe and it basically looks like a corner overflow but it’s lifted 2 off the bottom, the drains go into this chamber which I run a Filtersock and a bag of Carbon in. then into the Protein skimmer Chamber(about 10-15gallons, then through three partions to the actual return chamber, which is also about 10-15gallons ..I have my dual float switches and autotopoff setup on this chamber.. I have a 20g tank that I topoff RO/DI and Kalk through 24/7… The Euroreef is one of the original ones they came out with back in 2000 I think it was. I believe it was rated for a 200-300g tank.. it’s worked well on my 90g over the years though it’s run by a sedra 3500..
Oh yeah and I’m also running a ReefKeeper Controller =)

Right on Lak it's looking good man... How's work?> hey Are you living in sac yet? I'll be up there in a few weeks for training... Hey...

the turnover in the main SPS tank is over 150x/hour presently=) that's why there;'s no fish in there..=)

Whats a reverse durso? I ended up using a modified stockman style on my 50g dwarf fuzzy lion tank, its quiet, but not enough...

How are the QuietOne pumps? I am gonna be looking for a new pump when I upgrade my reef to a 120g.

The 90g tank I got from you is working out great, my cichlids are loving the extra room.

Check out the pic of the back of the blue tank... that's the reverse durso(or what I'm calling it).. I like it it's really silent...... the quietones are awesome.. I ditched my mag 9.5 in favor of this pump this one has a little more pressure 1017 vs 950 but the main gain in that it uses half the electricity of the mag 9.5.. I highly recomend it.. and it's quiet also=)... Don't get the HH or High Head model though they are very noisy from what i hear... I'm glad to hear that 90g is working out.. I also thought that would be a awesome Cichlid tank...=) I'm really getting into koi as of late though. I'm constructing a 12000 koi pond currently... that will be a whole nother thread though later on..dan

"jesus christ thats alot of flow."

Yes, Jesus would probably agree with you. Hey Dan! Congrats on the new setup, I'm digging the nano cube hood over the softie tank ;)

I think you should find one or two sweet pieces and let them fill up that clam tank.... but of course it's hard to resist all the eye candy out there. In any event I'm happy to see that you didn't leave the hobby after all the issues w/ the previous setup. Hey are you planning on coming w/ us to the bay on the 29th? Save the day man it should be a good time!

I'm thinking i will be coming with you guys I want to. Kinda depends on my schedule though BUT I'm pretty sure I'm off that day because I think I'll be up in Citrus Heights all week for training so if that's the case I won't have to work that weekend so I can finally make it to another meeting.. You know Jacob I really like that idea of just a few pieces in there.. I actually tossed several of the pieces in the pics the other day just because they were boring=)..

Yeah Flow.... Originally I was only going to go with a few mj1200's but those Tunze's fit in there just perfect...=) I need a few snails in there now though I'm getting a litle algae on the sides.(maybe a algae blenny)
