mmm aiptasia is best prepared with a lighter, serve with salt and vinegar make sure to leave nothing left when finished.

Definatly had a massive amount of fun removing this lil aiptasia from my tank tiday.. and i also re arranged the rocks in my tank since i had them all moved around anyway.. at least i moved around those on the right side of the tank so what do you think? i cant wait till these rocks are covered in zoas, shrooms, corals perhaps and eventually some anemonies..

This is the thing i went in to kill muahahhaha.

And now..
I know its not much of a change but it gives me more shelf space.. and a better show of pieces i have.. what do you think?http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/86090Picture_105.jpg

I would keep scanning your rocks. Depending how long the aiptasia was in your tank, it could have left some babies for you.

An easy way to take care of them is to make some thick kalk paste, stick it in an eye dropper or children's medicine dispenser and squeeze the kalk into the hole the aiptasia will retract into when you touch it.

After you seal up the hole with the kalk paste, don't touch it again. Coralline algae will grow right over the kalk. I once made the mistake of cleaning up the kalk after about a week or so. The same aiptasia came out to spite me a couple of days later.

If you buy something that comes on a rock, it's good to toss it in your QT tank and study it for awhile. A couple of swaps ago, I picked up some Anthelia (Waving Hand). After 3 or 4 days in the QT a baby aiptasia suddenly appeared. Had I just tossed it into the main tank, I would have been really bummed as my main tanks have been aiptasia free for over a year. Fortunately, I just applied kalk all over the area where the baby was and bye bye baby.

Best of luck,

Roy
