Light location question

I'm running three 400 watt MH over my new 210 gal system and want to add four 110 watt VHO's for AM and PM lighting. How close to the MH's can the flourescent tubes be located? I've seen some combination hoods with MH and VHO or T5's and the MH's bulbs were very close to the other bulbs. I'm looking at about 3 inches away from the MH's but was just concerned bout the heat produced by the MH's

OK lets try this, How far are you MH's from your flourescent if you are running both?

The reflectors on my PC lights are probably about that close to my MH pendant.

One thing to keep in mind if you are not using a separate spider or parallel reflector to the halides is if the halides and vhos are close together the vho's will "catch" alot of the light put out by the halides.
