Diatom filter or Magnum 350?

I need advice, should I buy a Diatom filter or a Magnum 350 or polish the water in my reef tank? The pro's and con's of each would be great Thanks

Well if I am correct, the magnum 350 can be utilized as a diatom filter, with the optional micron cartridge. If you have fairly cloudy water, it might be in your best interest to run the canister with just a filter pad and carbon for a while , prior to utilizing the diatomaceous earth, in that the latter has a tendancy to plug up real quick, but the resulting water clarity is remarkable.
I run an old magnum 200 with diatomaceous earth about twice a year. HTH
