Hello All,
Let me start by saying this is a great site with an awesome amount of information. My problem is that I happened to stumble on to it 5 months AFTER I started my 55 gallon FOWLR tank. Following the advice of a couple of "knowledgeable" friends, co-workers and the LFS, I went with a crushed coral bed.
After reading the pluses of a DSB I am really considering a switch, the problem is I'm not really sure how to go about it. Or if it is even recommended in an established, I'm not sure if I can call it that yet, tank. I currently have aprox. 40 lbs of Fiji rock, 10 turbo's, 8 red-claw hermits, 1 bangii cardinal, 3 damsels, & a clarkie (forgive any spelling mistakes please). I'm in the Philadelphia area, so getting SD sand would not be a problem.
So, what are your thoughts? Should I stick with what I currently have? I am very new to this hobby, so please bear with me.
