I just took my girls niece shopping for new sneakers,this girl is 11 yrs old,& wears a size 9.5 in mens,she is 5'7" tall.No one in her family is big just average,you know girls 5'5" dudes 5'11"-6'.its not just her, her classmates are the same,they look like juniors in high school,only their in 6th grade.

It's a proven fact that youngsters are hitting puberty earlier now than a generation or two ago. It's not that uncommon to find an 11 y/o girl with size C cups nowadays. Many people believe that it's from all the hormones that our beef and poultry are being fed and in turn passing it down to us.

Well, people have made a significant growth spurt in the last century or so mainly because of better nutrition and vitamin supplementing. But some people believe that the age of puberty is decreasing because of hormones found in foods, mostly meats such as chicken and beef that are given hormones for growth. I'm not sure its true, just a perpective issue. Everyone seems to grow up faster as you get older.

My husband still hasn't hit puberty, he's only 5'8"...same height as me;)

That's what I've heard-- growth hormones. I blame them for my lateral growth too.
