View Full Version : Which Corals?

I'm starting my first Reef tank. This is a 50 gal. with 440 watts of VHO, a Berlin skimmer powered by a Mag 7 pump, 2 Maxi-jet 900's in the tank, and about 75 lbs. of live rock. I'm planning to have a flasher wrasse, purple firefish, yellow assessor, ocellaris clown, and yellowtail fang blenny.

I love the corals that are brightly colored and undulate and flow with the current (probably what attracts many of us to this, right?). I will be buying some of the recommended books on corals soon, but what recommendations do people have for corals that fit these criteria and are at least somewhat hardy?

Green star polyps, mushrooms, toadstools, leathers, colt coral.

I agree with dattact - I started out with all of these (not all at the same time) and still have each of them.

Xenia is always nice. Find another reefer in your area who's trying to get rid of their excess (there's always someone who has this "problem").
