If the bulbs are 36" VHO's they are usually 95 watts per bulb. That means 380 watts of light.

On my 75 I have 2 x 36" VHO actinics and 2 x 250w iwasakis. If my growth rates are any indication, the corals LOVE the light!

so would you get it if you were in my place???? I plan on keeping:
Clams
Soft corals (many)
maybe a couple hard corals (all depends on $$$)
and other things.... Gorganians.. etx.. and a bulb anemone...

VHO's are a good place to start but clams and soft corals really have different light requirements and the LSP somewhere in between. The VHO kit would work for most soft corals but you need to look at hallides to be successful with clams and SPS. Watts per gallon can begin to offer you a guide. 4-5 watts/gallon for softies and 8-10 watts/gallon for clams and SPS with LPS somewhere between. Hope this helps....

If you're looking to keep clams I'd look at 2 250's or 2 400's and based on the bulb you choose pick your supplemental lighting accordingly.
