I was wondering if everyone is running carbon filters? If so are they being run all the time? If not how often?...thanks..Lee

FWIW I run Carbon 24x7 and I try to change it out weekly. Most of the time I run it in a canister filter like a Fluval, other times I just put it in my sump and let the flow from the overflow do the work.

How do you determine how much carbon to put in at one time?
I was just going to put it in a media bag and toss it in the sump.

I have about 200 gallons of water between the sump and the display tank.

I'm running a small amount through my cheap junky Prizm skimmer Delux. I wouldn't think you would need that much, as my freshwater penguin 330 filter cartridge has such a small amount in them around 2 tablespoon is all they have inside them and they are for tanks up to 55g. They keep the 55 freshwater tank good and clear.
