algae question

I have identified the fan/spiral shaped things in my tank as some form of padina. I can't find any information on if this is a good thing or a bad thing. They are growing fast that's for sure. Should I be concerend, and if so what should I do?

Padina is a calcerous macro algae. I don't know too much about it but I don't think it is harmful in the tank.

Maybe one of our biology people can tell you more.
