I added LR to my nano a couple of weeks ago, and I noticed these little worms today. They don't really look like bristle worms to me - wrong color. They're mostly black with red "heads", and white bristles. I posted on the Boston Reef society page, and one person said "bristle worm: Good!" and another said "fire worm: Bad!"
Here's a couple of pictures; blurry, but the best I can do with my camera.

The worm is sort of in the bottom left.
Thanks for any input!

It's a bristleworm AND a fireworm. Bristleworm is a term for all of the polychaete worms, and fireworm is the term for one family of bristleworms (Amphinomidae) which are all of the worms with calcium bristles. When you say bristleworm, most people think specifically of fireworms. All but one species of fireworm are good.

Hey, I wouldn't freak out about a bristle worm....But that was an informative little link you had there....I learned that those "rice" looking objects were sponge....so obviouse, I never thought.

Anyway, Who is that flawless girl in your avitar green bean?

Thanks guys...I knew that most bristle worms are good, but I didn't realize that fire worms are bristles.:o
I've been watching them roam around now, pretty cool!
