Could anyone identify this by any chance. And if so, is it good or bad? Its a fairly good size pic, so hopefully it has good enough resolution to id it.

Thanks

Looks like a mushroom to me. If so, it's good.

Yes, could perhaps be a Rhodactis or Ricordea. I'm not all that good at coral ids, though.

Good or bad... It looks nice.

The organization of the tentacles looks to me more like Stichodactyla tapetum, the miniature carpet anemone.

Interesting... What are the characteristics that give it away? Always curious...

If it comes from Greenbean you can beleive it. Greenbean knows Reef

Looks like a partially bleached Ric. Does the thing respond to stimuli?

Don't take my word for gospel. I've made plenty of mistakes, and this ID I'm not sure of.

I say it looks like a miniature carpet because of the large bare areas between the strips of tentacles, which S. tapetum has. With rics I would expect the tentacles to be fairly evenly distributed over the whole disk.

Maybe not as gospel, but I'd trust your word and your knowledge. You seem to be very well diversified in the hobby.

Hey! I got one of those! I think it's just a mushroom or ricordea of some sort.......Mine's a brownish color. Wish I knew what it was too.

Jx, yours does look like a real mushroom, though I don't think it's ricordea.

I notice in the early morning hours before the lights come on, it is shriveled up from the size of a quarter to a size of a dime and turns really dark brown like its dying. When the lights come back on it spreads back out and regains its color.

kingtut111 you've got a mini carpet anemone Stichodactyla tapetum. Positive ID. I have a few of them myself.

Is there any way to get them to reproduce. I have tried spot feeding with mysis but I never see it try to eat. Or does it absorb stuff from the water? It was a hitchhiker I got with the live rock. It is still just the one after about 4months.

Try feeding bigger foods like chopped scallop, salmon etc.
