I was wondering what everyone recomends (and maybe why) as far as what they use to remove chemicals.... activated carbon, phosban, purigen or anyothers.

I'm getting ready to set up a 10g and I will be placing an order soon so what do you recomnd. To start with it will be a FOWLR but I would like to keeps some easy corals down the road. Also, I don't plan on using a skimmer.

Activated carbon is a good idea, IMO. I would run a phosphate remover if I was having an algae problem. Otherwise, I'd just stick with carbon. If you're not using a skimmer, which is fine on a 10g, IMO, just do more water changes. You should be fine, IME.
