View Full Version : dead arrow crab, cause?

Well, He's gone, poor arrow, and I'm wondering about the cause. He was fine and running around the tank this am. A couple thoughts;

1. I have a mated pair of Coral banded shrimp and they got him. In same tank 2 months no prob's tho.

2. He attacked my bubble anemone and got bit, do they?

3. He got old?


nitrite = 0

nitrate= -12.5mg

amonia = 0

temp = 77.4

salinity = 1.023


Any ideas or something to look for? I appreciate it.


P.S. The snails finally got revenge.

Any of the above are possible, or he could have had a bad molt.

I would slowly raise the SG to 1.026, which is about average natural waters. That should reduce stress on the animals, especially the invertebrates. This article is a good starting point for data on the subject:
