Ever meet fellow Loungers?

So I was curious....it appears we have a fairly tight-knit community of Lounge Lizards (or Lounge Puppies, or Lounge Kittens, take your pick) from all of the chattter. But has anyone here ever met anyone else from the lounge or RC in general in person? Do not include any friends you knew before RC.

I've met Frick-n-Frags and Summers to name a couple. efroggies was a friend of mine I got addicted to SW and to RC.

Dino-you and Nina just need to get into the handling business so you can be hired as professional handlers and go to all the shows. That way, you'll end up on this coast sometime!! :) (or else shock your parents and tell them you've decided to go to vet school and apply to Cornell.....) :D

Not on this board, but I've met other internet people. Going to Park City Wednesday to meet a food board person. We're meeting at the Farmer's Market!:D She lives in the Virgin Islands and is in Ogden visiting relatives. There's very few people I wouldn't want to meet.

Actually what the loungers need to do is pool together a few mill then the loungers could BUY the place ;).

I sent a PM to an RC member who lived in my area. She finally responded after about 6 months (took down her tank and stopped checking out RC) and it ends up that we commuted together, had our kids in the same day-care, and used to live in the same apartment complex. So we have renewed our friendship, all because of RC!!!!!

I've also met about half the mods, and a whole lot more members. I've been around so long I knew LarryM before he sold RC.

I've met lots of RCers, it is always a hoot! Funny thing is that most of them I've gotten to know so well from here that meeting them the first time was more like seeing a friend you just saw yesterday. IMAC and MACNA, that's the ticket. Just be wary of mods carrying duct tape if you're a drinker. :lol:

Andrew - I'll be there for at least an hour or two, but I will be there early. Going to be at efroggies' place that weekend with the missus to cut travel time/distance. But I've actually got frags to sell this year so I'll probably be at a table for a short while.

Clavery - Of course you and Scout are on the list! Journey and Scout would get along great! I'm sure Eden would get a kick out of it too....she loves playing with new dog friends.

Nina - Yeah, Mrs. VR would love that...but the marshmallows might not make it all the way to Tuffy. The missus really likes 'em too!!!

Dino - A couple mil??? How big is this ranch exactly? I thought land in Wyoming was cheap!

:D When its all said and done with about 1,000 acres. Land here is cheap! To the rest of the country I guess. I don't think I'm allowed to say how much they're thinking of asking for it as it isn't up for sale yet. We guessed 3-4 million, ut one of the owners kinda hinted at a number a little bit higher than that ;).

There has been lots of lookers though! Last person called a couple days ago and they breed arabian horses and was interested in checking out the place.

:lol: Depends if the place is big enough to breed horses! In these parts 1,000 is nothing, not even big enough to really raise cows on unless you have land somewhere else too. So most likely with it being so small it'll turn into somebody's hobby farm!

1,000 acres TOO SMALL?!?!?!!? Good gravy!!! If I had a thousand acres I wouldn't know what to do with myself!!!!

Just goes to show the difference in perspectives based on where one lives. My dream was always a nice 40 acre plot of land to retire on and take up falconry (thanks for that one Shilo!!!). But 1,000 acres? * drool * MMmmmmmmm.....my new happy thought.

:lol: Yep! This place is itty bitty for around here! We had trouble when we had cows because we couldn't put up enough hay for them! So we had to buy a lot of it, and with it going well over $100/ton during the dry years it got expensive. I don't think I could contain myself with 40 acres, it would probably be fenceline every few feet I would think! Heck I probably walk across 40 acres on a "easy" 1 hour hike/walk.

We have a couple barns one could probably practice falconry in! You could also go down to the neighbor about 3 miles down the road that does falconry. Has a big barn built for the birds, not sure how many he has now. Always up here finding one that flew off.
