I got tired of having heat issuses and not enough lights in my Via Aqua hood. I decided to Get some T5 lights and make a hood to match the stand. So I ordered retro kit with four 24"T5 lights from Reef Geek. After a few days in the shop this is what I ended up with.
This is the original hood

And the New Hood

This is the top open for maintance and to show the lights

I also added two fan for heat control and they seem to be working really well. I am running the for a half hour every hour and the are keeping the temp around 80 deg. when I ran them all of the time the temp went to 76 deg.

Thanks for the comments. Now maybe I will have enough light for more than fish and mushrooms

You're not much for posting pictures (shots on their sides), but you are absolutely incredible when it comes to working with wood.

That is a "Reef Cat"

bad enough you have to compete with wives, kids, friends to sit and zone out at your hard work, now a cat moves in also.

Really nice work on the hood btw

Yea every morning I get to clean cat paw prints from the glass. They like to try and catch my Pajama Cardails.

I will work on getting the pictures right next time.:) Thanks for the compliments. I am a little out of practice on the wood working but it did turn out nice.
