I've heard something to the effect that if you're using tap water and a dechlorinator,(which I am) , the skimmer won't do it's job.
my Remora skims really wet for a day or so, then gets no foam at all.. any clues? Thanks! and yes, I will be New to the hobby for the rest of my life...

I had the same problem. It would Foam like crazy after a water change. Once it mixed up well it would stop. It did take a week or two for the Remora to get broke in, which may be your problem. Mine is skimming well right now, but it is 6 months old.

How new is the skimmer? They generally take a week or so to break in. And since you are local to me, check out reeffrontiers.com as there are a ton of people from Washington.

Blazer, it's been running for 8 mo or so, so it's not a break in thing.
