Here's my new Tomato clown- picked him up at the LFS. I liked him because of his extra stripe. Is that unusual?

Juvenile color pattern, middle stripe will go away as the clown matures.

I had no idea its was a juvenile color pattern- I thought I was getting something different. Thanks for the info. Do they always grow out of it?

SW Fan- Thanks, it was tough to get him to turn sideways to capture the little stripe. He seems to always face me when I'm watching him.

Mine does that to. The only time mine turns sideways is behind the rocks and it is only for a second

IME yes. Some baby tomato clowns have 3 stripes.

Thanks Gary- that's what I thought since in all my (limited) searching on-line I failed to find a single tomato clown image/photo with a second (or third) stripe.

Fishbase.org said, "A second black-edged white bar may be at mid-body." So I thought it was a possibility.

If only I had a digital camera back when I was raising clowns!
BTW- great pic, dchemist.
