Probe vs Pulse

Probe or Pulse start on MH's ? Does it matter, is one better or easier to find (more widely used)

Probe or magnetic for north american brans and some asian. Pulse for european brand bulbs and some asian. I have both. Probe cannot fire the bulb (bulb needs to have built in starter) alone and pulse can.
