View Full Version : A hitchiker on my Turbo snail

I just noticed him last night, it's a small shell attached to the turbos shell and this black looking thing comes out of it and sucks on the glass. Kind of looks like a leach.
Is it a baby of some kind or a hitchhiking snail.

Sounds like a stomatella snail, very good for the tank. If it's a small roundish shell either blackish or mother-of-pearl, and if the body is much bigger than the shell when it's out, that sounds like it. They're nocturnal.

It's a cream colored shell kind of round I guess and body of this snail is black.
Why would it hitch on the turbo it's been there for at least 3 months since I had it.
free ride i guess.

It might be a pyramid snail. They are parasites on other snails. A search should turn up some photos.

I looked at some pics and it doesn't have a spiral shape shell, it's shell looks more like a Turbos shell. And its body is black.
