can seahorses and clams go together.
im assuming metal halide of the clams will the bright light hurt the seahorse

Clams won't hurt seahorses, seahorses won't hurt clams

But seahorses really are not ideal "reef fish". They do best in a species only setup, preferably with the tank replicating a seagrass bed.

Most reef tanks have lots of water movement that can be stressful to the seahorses as well as competitive fish that out compete seahorses for foods....

But, seahorses won't do anything to bother a clam, and a clam won't bother a seahorse

I would say definately no. Seahorses prefer less intense lighting while clams prefer high intensity. If you keep both of these together one will have to compromise, unless your tank is large enough to have dim areas to which the seahorses can retreat.
