Uhm, I go to Firefighters Equipment Co on Rt 10 east, I think its in Randolph or Morris Plains..

You could also look up your closest AGL (they sell welding gasses)..

Co2 is Co2. Most people go to welders supply.. No difference between them at all..

10lb tank is about $18 for a refill, 5lb tank is like $13..

Most welders supply will exchange a full tank for the empty one. The Firefighters Equipment place refills your tank while you wait.

Look into a local soda bottling company. Here in Tucson, it was a royal PITA to get my 5lb bottle filled. Most of the places tended to collect the tanks until they had enough to make it worth firing up the machinery. Went to the local bottling company and they had a guy who did nothing but fill tanks. Cost me 5.50 to get it done. hardest thing about it was finding the entrance to the plant!

Not all CO2 is the same with respect to the level of contaminants.
Check out jdieck's excellent explanation in this thread:

I went to a store on Rt-46 a while back but can't recall its name right now.
I'll look it up and see what I can find.

You can try this place in Linden (see below). I get argon mix refills there for welding. I had to purchase my tank there, some places will not refill any tank. They also have a website...

http://www.cyberweld.com/

They are the same place. It was cheaper for me to purchase my welder from the website then buy it in Linden. Who knows? But website may help with priceing.

Interesting read :)

Never had problems at the Firefighters supply though.. Its funny too, because I usually have to do this at lunch from work, and the looks that I get when I bring the cylinder into the office are too much (I would never leave a pressurized gas in a hot car)..

The link I used to have is broken but do a search online for NJ welding supply places. Fire extinguisher recharge locations. Or local beer and soda places that refill CO2.

These guys used to have a zip code search for it but it is also no longer working.
