i wanna take the overflow off my 75g. AGA tank. i was wondering if i drain the water out of my overflow, let it dry in there, and then got the thickest piece of acrylic i could find, and caulked two pieces of acrylic(inside and outside of tank over the holes) with silicone , do you think that could withstand the pressure? thanks

why would you want to get rid of your overflow?

I'd just cover the inside part. That'd be easier to undo, maybe, if you ever wanted to go back. There's not going to be much pressure on the patch.

Maybe it's easier just to leave the water level a little lower?
