That product is intended for freshwater use only, so I wouldn't use it in my reef.

true but why, thats my question. not askin the amoo lock to work, just the carbon, maybe i'll just seperate the two to fill the chamber once then go get some tomorrow

Hmm, I guess I don't trust the resin part not to cause problems in salt water. If you give it a shot, let us know how it goes.

How much did you use? How big was the tank?

I think the main problem with that product is it also removes some salt from the water when used in a marine tank. In small amounts it really doesn't matter but I'd watch my specific gravity while using it.

POSSIBLY, MY LABLE DOESN'T STATE FW USE ONLY

You can use it. The zeolite used for Ammonia adsorption contain silicate so the worst that would happen is that it may release some silicate that will boost diatoms a little bit. In any case why the hurry? you can run without carbon for a while without problems either.

I moved alot of substrate around cleaning the bottom areas of the glass, removed a mechanical filter which spilled some nasty stuff into the tank.....

Got it... You could use it say for 24 hours when it will adsorb most of what it can. You do not need to leave it for a long time.
