I agree, most likely a bristle worm:

They're typically a pretty good thing to have in your tank as they will scavenge for uneaten bits of food which prevents it from decaying in your tank.

BTW, don't go petting them. Their spines pack a minor sting.

Oh I had that. Just hit it with the shampoo a few times. :eek1:

Like everyone said its probably a beneficial bristle worm. But if it has feelers on its head, it could be something nasty. A pic would help.

Punctuation is your friend. Don't fear it. Embrace it and set yourself free.

Take a look at the Eunice worm in this article. I had one of those. They're definitely bad.

It's a eunicid. Most aren't harmful, but some can become problems. There isn't any way to tell the troublemakers fromt he good guys, so it's probably best to take it out. Of course they are extremely hard to catch since they are so quick.

Thanks for the info. This is my tank as well(I'm kcoll4048 girlfriend) We have two of them, assuming male and female. PLUS a bushel of tiny babies. Oy. Tomarrow I am getting plastic tweezers and yanking them out of those rocks. They can then become lunch for my pair of mantis shrimp.

I would bet that not all of those worms you're seeing are eunicids. Only the ones with the antennae on their heads are eunicids.
