Has anyone used primefix and melafix in a marine tank and if so what were the results?

[welcome]

I wouldn't use any medication in a display tank. The fish disease forum is probably a good place to check.

Thise are toxic to a saltwater fish anyway.

MelaFix is just a 1% Melaleuca solution (comes from the paperbark tree) and I think is a type of eucalyptus (sp?)

This is news to me also. I have used both, it didn't do any harm to my fish, but it didn't cure anything either. :D

No, no fix I saw either, but the Melafix has a nice smell to it and makes your skimmer go berserk :D

The description says it's safe for salt or fresh water.

Has anyone used either in their quarantine tank as an added precautionary measure?

I have used them in freshwater and saltwater. IME in SW, it does practically nothing-I didnt even notice it to heal minor scrapes. In FW, it is great (actually both are) and I have noticed that it does indeed heal bacterial and fungal infections. If you wait for the same to happen in saltwater, your fish will die before it "works." In SW, there is no substitute for a good broad spectrum antibiotic or antifungal-and of course, good water quality.
