View Full Version : How many turns an hr is ideal

WOW, everyone has something to say about this. Lets get to the bottom line here. How many turns is ideal. I heard 10-20. I am turning a little over 14 an hr.

I like 15-25x turnover.

Depends on what you want to keep, I have had people tell me they run 100+ X per hour on sps tanks.

It really does depend on what corals you want to do well with. I have 2 tanks 1 is a mainly SPS tank and the other is only softies, in the sps tank I have heavy irregular flow and all of the SPS's do very well, the softy tank is low flow. Now before I had the 2 separte tanks I had everything in my high flow sps setup, the LPS's never seemed happy in there. Now with the low flow they are opened up all the way and very happy.
