hi steve,

i came over with sandman (james) a few weeks ago and bought your sand.

we put one bag into ref. and the entire room is worse than red tide...

eyes water & itch , sneeze & cough bad. luckily we didn't have any life...

any chance of a refund???

i'll bring all the sand back over.

hunter, If this was the used sand you purchased, Steve noted it needed washed. Sounds like you did not wash it well enough...You should be able to put it in a bucket and run a hose in it for awhile while stirring it to remove any dead animals and dietrus the sand had collected....Then spread it out and let it dry outside till fully dry. It shoudl smell alot better then...

tell you what myakka,
let's wash the sand, dry it in the sun and add it to your tank.
no charge!!! free!!!
i might as well go down to siesta key grab a few buckets , wash them off and throw it in my tank while i'm at it.
you be my guina pig and i'll take your advice.

Dan , don't be ****ed off at me I was just saying that Steves initial post said the sand needed washed. I am sure he did not twist your arm into buying or taking it..I was just suggesting that it might have needed really washed well....You bought this used any how so what does this say, "buyer beware"...My god man grow up...

look bud,
don't tell me to grow up #1.
this was none of your "****ing" business in the first place #2.
the sand is friggin toxic. i was merely asking for a refund and he can resell it to someone the has time to autoclave each grain of sand to not kill everything in my house including my dogs.
fine if i'm stuck with it big friggin deal.
i just figured in a club atmosphere everyone was cool. if steve doesn't reply fine, that's his business.
but you myakka don't need to crime in your opinion on every subject and post out there.
i think i met you at coral connection once when you were trading some junk in, and if you need to discuss this further please let's by all means do it in person, "mr, grown up"

hunterpandeme and james, I have been out of town for a while, but back now, and saw your PMs and these posts. The sand was new Southdown that Scubadude, (Rocky) picked up at the port in Fort Pierce a few years ago. I have used several bags my self with no problems. As always with Southdown, everyone suggests rinsing with fresh water before use, to keep the dust from making the water too white. I dont know what the problem was. Did James put some dead shrimp in the tank?, as he had done this on setting up some other tanks in the past? This would cause the stink problem. If you dont want it I will take it back, but it should not have any problems. It is harvested in the North West Bahamas, way out at sea where there is no run off. We shoveled it out of Rockys truck and put it in bags, there was no visible things beside sand. PM me , Steve.
