I have 5 urchins in the tank. Only one of them is dropping his spines all over. Water quality is good. Any ideas? Thanks

Dropping spines is a bad sign.

usually they can lose a couple, but if it's alot, then it's bad.

Usually they'll die I believe and then you dont' want that crap all over your tank

Like the others have said, dropping spines is a bad sign. What specifically are your parameters, especially salinity?

high temperatures can be the culprit too and it will kill them.

The urchin could also be losing his spines because it is not getting enough food with the other four you have in there.
