I'm very excited about this little guy, just wanted to share :D
I mulled over whether or not to add a third fish to my nano, and in the end my husband was the deciding vote. He really doesn't take too much interest in any of my tanks, but he thinks the relationship between gobies and pistols is really amazing and wanted to see our shrimp pair up, so I decided to go ahead and add a goby.
We had some YWGs at work, but by the time I got around to buying one, they were gone. Yesterday I was checking the tanks and saw a gorgeous little face peeking out - I fell instantly in love. After confirming that he'd pair with a pistol, I decided to take him home. As soon as I placed him in the tank the pistol rounded him up, and into the cave they went like old friends. They've been attached at the hip all day, building new caves together. Here are some pics (clipped from larger shots of the tank) of the little guy - an orange-spot shrimp goby - Amblyeleotris guttata - as far as I can tell.
