I have some Hairy Mushrooms that have decided to take over the tank, so I want to remove them.
I was thinking of a way to get them to let go of the rocks they are attached to. What I came up with is a piece of plastic with electrodes on the end that will shock them just a little. (pic below)

I would start off with low voltage and low current and increase it until they reacted.
My concern is that I have heard of a problem with fish that some people think is related to stray electrical current in the tank. My device would not really have much effect over a large area but I still wanted to ask if anyone had tired this before, or anything close
