Thanks! Here is a pic of the whole coral from a couple of months ago. I have thought about fragging it for the swap but I can't bring myself to cut into my prize coral yet.

Yeah once you start cutting on those toadstools it's easy to lose the original symmetry.
I'd wait till it kinda grows on you and is no longer your prized posession.

If you cut a ring around the outside and then cut that into smaller pieces, it keeps its round shape. The edges heal up nicely for me. GL
